Check Ubuntu and Debian support deadlines

Linux support depends on the OS version, CPU, package provider and service coverage. The following are officially published deadlines, not assessments of your environment's coverage or installed fixes for individual packages.

Source checked: . Month-only schedules are not converted to exact dates. Plans and eligibility can change; check official guidance before use.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Standard security maintenance — published end month

(month precision)

Published standard-support period for Main/Restricted. Check Universe/Multiverse community maintenance, third-party packages such as PPAs, Ubuntu Pro/ESM/Legacy and individual kernel deadlines separately.

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Standard security maintenance — published end month

(month precision)

Published standard-support period for Main/Restricted. Check Universe/Multiverse community maintenance, third-party packages such as PPAs, Ubuntu Pro/ESM/Legacy and individual kernel deadlines separately.

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

Standard security maintenance — published end month

(month precision)

Published standard-support period for Main/Restricted. Check Universe/Multiverse community maintenance, third-party packages such as PPAs, Ubuntu Pro/ESM/Legacy and individual kernel deadlines separately.

Debian 12 (bookworm)

LTS — published end date

LTS CPU coverage is limited to amd64, i386, arm64, armhf and ppc64el. Some packages are excluded; check availability per package. Paid extended support has separate conditions.

Debian 13 (trixie)

LTS (planned) — published end date

Planned future LTS end date. CPU coverage may differ from regular support. This date alone does not establish future CPU or package eligibility.

What administrators should check after reading the deadline

  1. Check the OS version, CPU, package providers and repositories in your administrative environment. Do not apply the OS deadline to PPAs, other providers or every kernel.
  2. For Ubuntu, verify standard support and active Pro/ESM coverage. For Debian LTS, check eligible CPU architectures and excluded packages in official guidance. You do not need to send enrollment or contract details to this site.
  3. Check individual fixed versions in official security notices, and prepare backups, recovery, rollback and testing. After updating, verify the actual running versions and service behavior.
How to read deadlines and understand the scope

Deadlines retain the precision published by the source. Month-only plans are not converted to exact days. At an end-date/month boundary, or more than 30 days after source verification, the form asks you to check again.

Being within a support period does not guarantee that individual vulnerability fixes are installed. This catalog alone cannot establish whether an unlisted product or version is safe or unsupported. Choices, enrollment, contract validity and device/site status are not automatically verified.

Check OS provider fixes and extended support separately from the product's upstream deadline. A document's last-updated date is not treated as end of support.
